The South Australian Modern Public Sector Enterprise Agreement: Salaried 2017 (SAMPSEAS) was officially approved by the South Australian Employment Employment Tribunal (SAET) on Wednesday, January 31, 2018. This date now becomes the official start of the new payroll contract, with the terms of the agreement that will apply from 31 January 2018 and salary increases dating back to October 2017. The EPI intends to communicate with members throughout the year on the implementation of the terms of the new agreement, including the many improvements psa members have achieved during this round of negotiations. SAET`s role is to approve the agreement if it meets the specific requirements of the Fair Work Act 1994. SAET may also reconcile or give instructions when parties are working to negotiate an agreement. Formal negotiations for a new enterprise agreement (known as Enterprise Bargaining) began on December 17, 2019. The agreement covers a wide range of groups of workers, including enterprise agreements, which define the conditions of employment between workers and employers. They can be done either under state law or under federal law. Such agreements are an alternative to sectoral rewards. They also provide an opportunity to recognize other unassigned employment agreements.
